About US

Erin Haase, LPC Embracing the stories of others and meeting folks where they are is at the heart of everything I do. Counseling for me is a journey while in a therapeutic relationship with a trusted other. I value and honor each part that shows up, and welcome whatever comes in the moment. Through a person centered with attachment-focused approach, I come alongside others to assist navigating whatever brings them into the counseling room. I love using expressives, and other techniques and modalities, to incorporate deeper meaning making in the process. I graduated with my Masters in Counseling from Eastern Mennonite University in 2011, and I also have a trauma certification from the Ferentz Institute of Advanced Psychotherapy Training and Education. I did community counseling in homes and schools for 13 years before I got back to my roots of outpatient counseling. I love meeting with ages 8 and up. I have experience working with families, children/adolescents with life struggles, trauma, prenatal and postnatal concerns, women's issues, perimenopause/menopause struggles, anxiety, life transitions, care taking for others, chronic illness, LGBTQIA+, juvenile delinquency, and parent child relationship struggles to name a few. I have been living in Harrisonburg since 2009, and love all the close community connections and relations that come with living in the valley. I enjoy walking, baking, traveling, and hanging out with friends, family, and my dogs in my spare time. Trevor Haase, LPC Counseling is an opportunity to find ourselves and work towards creating a deeply satisfying life. Through trust, openness, and authenticity we begin to better understand our needs, barriers, and patterns. We can challenge negative narratives about our ability to change and invite a new and brighter tomorrow. I spent 10-years working in residential settings with people experiencing acute mental health crises. Over the past 4-years I translated that experience into the outpatient setting through offering effective coping strategies, understanding the importance of connections and attachment, and embracing the uniqueness of each individual. At my core, I am a Person-Centered counselor that embraces the ideal of unconditional positive regard. I integrate Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT) coping skills and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) practices to best meet individual needs. I graduated from James Madison University in 2016 with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I most often work with individuals 15-years old and up. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, suicidality, life transitions, human sexuality, chronic illnesses, ADHD, Boundary/Assertiveness Skills, LGBTQIA+ populations, and adult/romantic attachments. I have called Harrisonburg home since 2009. I enjoy running, cycling, and watching sports. I also love art in all forms and fashion including painting, music, literature, and video games.
